Dan and John are two friends from Buffalo who make wings in NYC. Using recipes they learned growing up in Buffalo, they started making wings in Dan’s Brooklyn apartment to satisfy their needs during Bills games (losses).
Before long, friends were asking for wings, and in the spring of 2013, their wings took flight at Brooklyn’s outdoor food festival, Smorgasburg. They gained fans around NYC and added a 3rd partner, Pat, who helped open a take-out shop in the East Village of Manhattan.
Critic, Andrew Steinthal of The Infatuation crowned Dan & John’s Wings: “NYC King of Wings” and they received attention from Eater, ZAGAT, CBS, GQ, Maxim, Esquire, Complex and others.
Dan and John were drafted to the New York Mets food lineup at CitiField and serve wings during every home game in section 335.
In 2017, Dan and John joined Sean Evans, host of “Hot Ones” for an episode of “Sean in the Wild”. They also joined the cast of Chopped at the NYC Wine and Food Festival to raise money for the NYC Food Bank and No Kid Hungry.
Their East Village take-out shop expanded to a full dining room in 2018 and the next location will open in Murray Hill in the spring of 2019. To find the nearest Dan and John’s Wings, click here.
